9 weeks exam

In the first nine weeks of sports marketing and entertainment marketing I learned a lot of thing, most of what I would have never thought would matter in the business world. Coming into this class, I thought I would just be about money and sports. But as time went on I soon realized that’s its way more than just sports and money. This industry goes down to the roots of the products, of how they are made, who makes them, where to sell, and so forth. What makes this class so interesting are the activities that we do during class. The hands on activities helped me learn the concepts of marketing very well. In sports marketing we learned the “four p’s “of marketing. The “four p’s” are product, price, promotion, and place. The product is what you are selling to your customers. Price is for how much you are demanding for your product. Promotion is how you are going to promote your product or advertisement, through any form of communication. And finally place is where you are deciding to put or sell your product. These “four p’s” are very important to the marketing business. We also learned about the seven keys of marketing. The seven keys are product/service management, distribution, selling, marketing-information management, financing, pricing, and promotion. Product/service management is improving the product or how you’re going to make it better. Distribution is determining how you’re going to get your product from point “a” to point b”. Selling is how you are going to sell your product. Marketing-information management is having advice from your customers of how you could improve your business decision making. Financing is how you can help your customers buy your product. Pricing is establishing a decent price for your product. And lastly promotion, it is the they way you are going to advertise the product.

Price Vs. Fashion

Would you still buy the high price fashion shoes if you knew that they were made the same way as the less expensive ones? Ms. Marbury had it difficult for her and her family. The price of the jordans everyone had were around $200. She explained how that was ur monthly expensis from food and other bills and hardley had any money left. The diffrence between wanting and a need is a big diffrence. Wanting something is something you want and really dont needitand also cant nessasarely buy. A need is something that you need and cant live without, for example food, housing, and clothes. I buy fashion based on looks.

Distribution

Today in sports marketing we learned how distribution works. Distribution is how to get your product from point a to point b. In the activity we had to distribute salt from one cup to the other and water from one cup to another. The cups that had the water and salt were considered factories, which meant we could not pick up or tilt the cup. What made it difficult was we only had 3 tools to use to distribute the "product", a spoon, napkin, and a straw. My team decided as i suck the water through the straw and held it in my mouth the other team would scoop out the salt onto the napkin with the spoon. Even though the goal seemed hard the plan helped us out and came 3rd place in the class. A good distribution plan is to businesses because it helps you get the product from your factories, to the stores, without losing any product on the way.

My favorite food is mexican food. My hobbies are listening to music and playing soccer. I rarely watch T.V. but one of my favorite shows is PTI. My favorite subject in school is math. Ive liked math ever since i was a little kid, and im good at it too. My strengths are being competative and a hard worker. My weaknesses are sometimes getting lazy and slacking off. When i have a test i usually study but if i know its a easy class or test i wont. I would like to learn everything there is to learn about the involment of business. I really dont know how to divide the work in my team. I would make a good team member because im hard working.
